What is Integrative counselling?

Integrative therapy

Integrative therapy or integrative counselling is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations.

I am trained as an integrative counseller and will use different elements of therapy with each client because each client is different and has different issues to bring to therapy. My main approaches as an integrative counseller are the person centred therapy, transactional analysis, gestalt therapy and sandplay therapy. I use sand play therapy in my sessions with children, teenagers and equally with adults.

As an integrative counseller I aim to work with you in a creative therapeutic relationship using talking therapies and Sandplay therapy to gain a deep understanding and non-judgemental acceptance of who you are and what you wish to work on.

If you decide you would like to start therapy with me and you want to know more about these approaches, then I am more than happy to tell you more about it.

Home Visits

I do home visits too, but will need to add £5 as petrol cost (depending on distance).

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (bacp) and abide by their code of professional conduct.

I am in ongoing personal therapy and independently supervised. I have (and continue to) attended various studies, training workshops and seminars.
